Sally & the Melo Hearts

April 3rd & 4th. No cover charge

A power trio plus a signature voice are what Sally & The Melo Hearts bring to the stage, attracting fans from many genres of music. The Hearts consists of Sally Melo (vocals), Jay Patterson (guitar/vocals), James Lee (bass/vocals) and Peter Gordon (drums). Through spirited collaboration and combined vocal abilities this powerhouse group was born.

Sally’s musical talents started by taking centre stage in her own original band, Escapade (later Chances R), in the early 80s. She went on to perform at the Town Pump, 86th Street Music Hall and most notably Club 88, where her band shared the stage with the likes of Trooper, Zappacosta and Frenzy to name but a few. She and the band were featured on local television and radio stations, performed on the world class Expo ’86 stage and participated in numerous community festivals right up to the early 90s.

She worked alongside her brother Eddie, where they formed Fully Loaded, a cover band which quickly became the house band for a Vancouver landmark hotel as well as performing at various live music venues throughout the Lower Mainland.

In addition to fronting the Melo Hearts, Sally is also a backup singer with The Longriders Band (a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute act), gracing larger audiences at the Merritt Mountain Music Festival in 2008 and 2009, the world renowned Cloverdale Rodeo in 2009, Cascades Casino and more recently appearing at Sturgis North 2011 and 2012, Summer Stomp 2012 in Salmon Arm, BC and Music in the Park 2012 and 2014 in Kamloops, BC.
